Todd Howard Confirms Fallout Season 3 Will Introduce New Elements
Bosue.id, Jakarta - Fans of the Fallout franchise may have to prepare for a big surprise in the future.
Todd Howard, head of development at Bethesda Game Studios, has just leaked some interesting details regarding the production of the Fallout Season 3 television series.
In his latest interview, Howard strongly hinted that the third season of the Amazon Prime Video live-action adaptation will take viewers to a completely uncharted territory.
Exploration of New Geography in the Fallout Universe
Based on statements made to Entertainment Weekly, Todd Howard promised that Season 3 will introduce various elements and destinations that have never appeared in the entire series of previous Fallout video games.
"One of the aspects we appreciate most about Fallout is its geographical diversity. This is an incredible opportunity to showcase new elements within the Fallout universe that I believe will greatly surprise fans," Howard said enthusiastically.
Howard's statement aligns with the cliffhanger ending of Season 2. At the end of that season, the character Cooper Howard discovered that his family's cryo tube had been emptied.
The only clue left was a postcard directing his destination to the state of Colorado.
The choice to set the story in the post-apocalyptic snowy landscape of Colorado is a bold move, considering this region has never been the main setting in an official Fallout game.
Previously, Colorado was indeed planned to be the location for a game project codenamed "Van Buren", but that project was eventually canceled.
Besides presenting a fresh snowy landscape, the move to this new region also paves the way for the introduction of various new factions and survivor communities.
Howard explained that the production team wants to deeply explore who the people inhabiting the region are, how they survive, and what new factions have formed there.
With filming set to begin this summer, Fallout Season 3 is confirmed not just to adapt the game, but also to expand the Fallout universe to be far more massive than before.
